Job Description

Buck Hill Falls Tennis Club is seeking an Assistant Tennis Professional who is driven and wants to join a committed team. 

Summer/Fall Position: Starting as soon as possible until the end of October. Possibility of continuation. Starting and end dates can be flexible for the right candidate.

 

Located in the beautiful Poconos in Pennsylvania, Buck Hill Falls has reasonable access to New York City and Philadelphia, besides a wide variety of outdoor activities. We are looking for a very personable, self-motivated, and positive candidate. The right applicant must be able to teach players of all ages, must be professional, friendly, and customer service oriented. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach private lessons to adults and juniors
  • Teach clinics to adults and juniors 
  • Promote club events for adults and juniors 
  • Assist membership at the Pro Shop 
  • Help to develop lesson plans for adults and juniors 
  • Help organize social and competitive events
  • Help maintain the facility to the higher standards of cleanness and organization 
  • Work the Pro Shop when needed 
  • String tennis Racquets (Could be trained if necessary)

Skills/Experience:

  • Must have a strong work ethic 
  • Must be punctual and reliable 
  • College Tennis playing experience or Tournament experience Preferred
  • 3 +Years of coaching experience preferred 
  • USPTA or PTR certified preferred 
  • Pickleball experience preferred
  • Paddle experience preferred

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate for teaching privates and clinics
  • Hourly rate for working off-court 
  • Stringing 

 

This is a great opportunity for individuals who pursue a career in Sports Management, especially directorship of Racquet Sports Programs. You’ll gain experience in all operations, including Scheduling, Event Planning, Teaching curriculums, Pro Shop Management, Accounting, Teaching Methodologies, Customer Service Practices, Creation of Tournaments, and Special Events and Maintenance among others. The right candidate will have the potential for growth within the club and the Racquet Sports Industry.
