Our nonprofit client, based in D.C, is searching for a Communications Associate to join their team for a project! This is a freelance/project opportunity, and a great chance to showcase your media talent for an organization with cause.

Communications Associate

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Communications Associate to support their outreach and engagement efforts, with a primary focus on digital media/social media. This role will create, edit, and post content—primarily for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and occasionally YouTube—using a mix of pre-developed templates from program directors and original concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and schedule engaging social media content to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
• Adapt provided templates for campaigns and create new content as needed.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to gather information, visuals, and updates.
• Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all platforms.
• Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies for improved reach and interaction.

Qualifications:

• At least 1+ experience with digital media communications, focusing on media usage and engagement.
• Strong written and visual communication skills.
• Experience managing social media platforms for organizations or brands.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable.
• No degree required —we value skill, creativity, and results.
