Our client is a respected environmental and construction consulting firm that helps lenders make informed decisions about the properties they finance—work that supports community safety and financial stability. For over two decades, this company has served lenders nationwide with a strong reputation for expertise and reliability. As an employee-owned company, they focus on long-term investment in their teams, providing opportunities for further training and certifications that create a clear path to growth.

The Field Inspector will play a key role in conducting detailed assessments and assisting clients with important decisions while gaining hands-on experience in environmental and construction risk mitigation, property research, and construction project management. In this role, you will be set up for success from the beginning, with company-provided equipment, the flexibility of working from home when not in the field, and the support of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and conduct site visits for Construction Draws, Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Transaction Screens, and EA Quick Plus assessments, following ASTM standards.
  • Prepare for visits by reviewing previous studies, online research, and any relevant background information.
  • Work closely with clients to fully understand operations, processes, and any potential environmental risks.
  • Maintain and organize documentation, keeping projects organized and properly tracked.
  • Assist in drafting first-pass reports.
  • Prepare desktop reports and conduct peer reviews, as needed.
  • Receive further training in more advanced site inspections, Phase II ESAs, and environmental/construction reviews, supporting these efforts, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering science, or related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with ESAs, PCAs, Phase II, or construction monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; quick learner with internal platforms like PODIO.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism and ability to collaborate and work effectively with both internal teams and clients.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary + bonus opportunities
  • Full benefits: health, dental, vision, life, disability.
  • Paid time off: vacation, personal, sick days.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Opportunities for training and certifications (Phase I/II ASTM training, OSHA, etc) provided through the company to advance your skills and career.

Work Environment & Travel

This position will require up to 75% travel to sites within a 2-3 hour radius with occasional travel throughout the United States. Must be comfortable with heights and climbing ladders to get on roofs.
