Litigation Associate Role:
Litigation Associate will supportone busy partner in a wide range of litigation matters.
Manage all aspects of litigation from inception through resolution, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and preparing for hearings and trials
Conduct depositions and witness interviews
Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
Work with clients to develop litigation strategies and provide timely legal advice
Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure the effective handling of cases
Manage case files, ensuring deadlines are met and documents are organized and complete
Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Litigation Associate Background Profile:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the state bar
3–5 years of litigation experience, with demonstrated ability to handle cases and conduct depositions
Insurance defense background, particularly in defending personal injury-type claims
Familiarity with billing guidelines
Experience with non-subscriber litigation is a plus
Experience with employment litigation defense is a double plus
Strong writing and oral advocacy skills
Experience with discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel
Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to handling cases
Strong work ethic and initiative, with an annual billable target of 1900 hours
Excellent communication skills and a humble, feedback-receptive attitude
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
