Job Description

Overview:

Our client is a manufacturing company in Little Rock, Arkansas. They are looking for a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize all inbound and outbound transportation activities. This role focuses on managing shipments via barge, rail, and truck to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with freight carriers, including barge, rail, and trucking companies
  • Handle freight rate negotiations and evaluate carrier performance metrics
  • Oversee shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
  • Utilize logistics software (ERP and TMS) to monitor shipments and provide status updates
  • Identify opportunities to lower costs, increase efficiency, and enhance delivery timelines

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of experience in logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • In-depth understanding of inland barge and rail transport operations
  • Proficient in using ERP and transportation management systems
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and supplier management abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of port logistics or transloading operations
  • Experience with international shipping procedures and export documentation
  • Relevant certifications in logistics or process improvement, such as Lean or Six Sigma

*This position is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Remote or hybrid work is not available. A relocation bonus is offered to assist with the move.
