About the Role

We’re hiring a Civil Engineer (Water) on behalf of our client, a respected civil and environmental engineering firm specializing in municipal water infrastructure. This role is ideal for a licensed PE based in Northern California (Sacramento, Berkeley, or San Jose) with experience in the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects and a collaborative, team-first approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and treatment facilities for municipal clients.
• Support or lead project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
• Attend in-person project meetings as needed across Northern California.
• Contribute to or lead proposals and marketing efforts; existing relationships with municipalities is a plus.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, multi-disciplinary project outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• PE license in the state of California (required)
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on water/wastewater projects
• Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and permitting
• Project management experience preferred (team leadership, budget/schedule oversight)
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work from a Northern California office and travel to project sites as needed
