As a Purchasing Clerk, you will be responsible for checking inventory levels, tracking order status, and ensuring that purchase orders are accurately entered into the system. You will work closely with other departments to assess material needs and communicate directly with suppliers to source and order products. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
This role requires general office experience and proficiency in basic spreadsheet use. The ideal candidate should be comfortable navigating purchasing systems and maintaining accurate documentation. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key traits for the Purchasing Clerk position.
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor and maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations
· Communicate with vendors to obtain product quotes, place orders, and follow up on deliveries
· Enter purchase orders (POs) and other relevant data into the purchasing system
· Assist with invoice reconciliation and ensure pricing accuracy
· Maintain organized records of orders, deliveries, and vendor communications
· Support purchasing team with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
· Perform basic spreadsheet functions to track purchasing data
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Previous related experience and/or training in purchasing or office administration
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software
· Strong communication skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
· Comfortable making outbound calls to vendors and suppliers
